Toby Rush Sonata for Violin III

Lloyd liked the Rolling Stones. He felt they were playing in the shadow of the Beatles, just like Braque was in a shadow of Picasso, he used to say. Lloyd had lots of discussions with Sean about the role of Rock & Roll and the transitions this music went through. They had endless talks about rhythm, dance, techniques, and fame as a mystic element of uncertainty and surprise. Each of the musicians developed their own technique and was growing in different way. For tens of years they never wanted to play together, though.

All night the guy downstairs plays guitar
I want to take it and throw it far
I would pay him lots of cash
To throw his instrument in the trash
Because he doesn't sound like a rock-n-roll star!

I once wanted to learn to play the Guitar
I had dreams of becoming a superstar,
but when I tried to play
everything went astray
and now my spirit is filled with a big scar
