Guntee was hired as a Trouble Shooter. He’d have a solution to everything. He could advise people, solve problems, cancel, mentor, babysit, entertain, fix, measure, edit, copy-edit, organize, convert, but never gossip. His motto was not to see or hear anything, but to know and notice everything. This way he appeared discrete, but dependable, always able to help. His position was justified by his ability to keep everyone happy, which never worked, so his title was changed to “Mentor”
