Bruno likes to read and learn. His job requires lots of traveling and also waiting. He's been reading about semiotics, objects, images, icons, metaphors, and iconic objects. Bruno found special interest in "pretenders" – objects that are have a shape that does not correspond with their function. Bruno collects them and uses them all around his house. It is his goal that every functional object he posseses is a pretender that looks like something else. Edward often brings him something from his frequent trips. Debbie tries to give him an estimate of the value for each object, but it is not about money, he keeps telling her.
