A. Ursyn Orchestra / Piccolo Nelson
Previous Home Next Back to Samuel

Nelson wore thick, heavy glasses, despite the fact that he never had to look at the notes while playing. The stage light kept reflecting in his glasses, often blinding the audience. To avoid that, he began wearing special sunglasses over his prescription glasses. It even looked really cool when he was performing with his band.

The Piccolo

The Piccolo is a smaller version of its cousin, the Flute. It plays and octave higher than the Flute. There are usually not very many Piccolos in an orchestra. Because the piccolo is like the flute, flute players can alternate easily. Since the pitch of the flute is high and pops out, there are usually no more than two.
